Tom Rockwell

Tom Rockwell is the Founding Director of Science and Spirit Studio. He also serves as the Chief Creative Officer at the Exploratorium, San Francisco’s museum of science, art, and human perception. Since 2005, Tom has led numerous creative projects, including overseeing new galleries for the Exploratorium's 2013 relocation, and serving as creative director for partner projects with the Kiewit Luminarium in Omaha, and SESI Lab in Brazil. His interests include exhibiting the human sciences and exploring the relationship between science, art, and religion. With Science and Spirit Studio, he is currently developing a major exhibition on science and religion for the Kiewit Luminarium, set to open in 2027. Prior to the Exploratorium, Tom ran Painted Universe, Inc., where he produced exhibitions such as It’s a Nano World and illustrations for Brian Greene’s The Elegant Universe.

Kyra Auerbach

Kyra Auerbach, MA, MBA wears several hats for Science and Spirit Studio: office and administrative manager, content developer, and Tom’s executive assistant. She also works in her greater community as a music and movement facilitator. She holds Masters degrees in Somatic Psychology and Education (CIIS) and in Sustainable Enterprise (GreenMBA, Dominican), and has a 30-year background in yoga, conscious dance and movement, permaculture, and elemental healing. She is the founder of GaiaWise (2009), an umbrella for initiatives serving regenerative personal and professional development, and has served on many boards, including Aushadi Foundation, Maitri House Northwest and Sustainable Means.
